--- chapter 19 ---

 1.  of this king   in assembly   tomorrow

    all priests   hymns    will recite

    ascetics   also   hymns    read

    however   preists   only     hymns

having read,   payment   to obtain   want

    but ascetics   payment   trouble       think

they  say  ' these  preists   merchants

    As   merchants   money   want'

So   these  preists  also   for money   hymns   read

 2.

When  by king   enemies   were defeated

Then   those enemies wives   in all directions   ran

 3. When   emperor Alexander   India  conquered

Then   he   there   many   ascetics    saw

    of these ascetics   knowledge

    and austerity   having  seen    clearly

    the king   some  ascetics

to Greece country    to take     wanted

the ascetics   to the king   said,  hey  Alexander

you   of this world   emperor   are,  people  tell

however   we   our minds   emperor   are

    When   sun    sets

Then  everywhere   in world   darkness   spreads

Sire   also   you  that  darkness    not dispell

but  in our minds   of night  by darkness

    darkness   never   is born

that say,  who   emperor ?  you or us

   these words   understooding,    Alexander

of ascetics     saluted  and  turned away

 4. As   is moon     So  in this world   he  emperor

 5.   as long as   rivers  will flow

as long as   moon    from sky  to earth  will not fall,

as long as  by winds power  moutains  not destroyed

    so    in this world   my

poems   of good men   voice  will adorn

    having spoken   the poet   died

the poets death  after,  people   the poets  poems

    with his body       burned

 6.  poems   having recited    merchants   not pleased

    nor   money   having obtained   ascetics

    who  which  wants    that  only

having obtained  his thoughts   are satisfied

 7.  moon   dawn  and lights

having seen,   my mind    feels good

    this world    creator   poems

    When  everywhere   good men

    this poetry    see

    Then   they   creator    praise

 8.

     merchants, doctors and priests

     with peoples money      prosper

    When   adversity   people   trouble

    Then   priests   wealth   increase

    When  illness   in world   occur

    Then  doctors  payment  also   increase

those people  by illness   not killed

    those people      to doctors

all money  having given   by hunger  are killed

people  allways  more food  must eat

        merchants   creator    ask

  9.  When  with enemies arrows   emperors chest   pierced

Then everyones   thoughts    with grief   overcame

moon   from sky  to earth   falls,  good men  think

     anamils   by power   moutain   perishs

     all people   contemplate

       these enemies   town   having entered

       all houses   will burn

having contemplated,  all people   bows brought

town   to protect   in doorways  stood

 10.    which  good man's mind   dawn

having seen    would not be pleased

     which  good man's thoughts  flowers

having seen   would not be pleased

having seen  moon, as  in flowers   feel good

     so   good friend  having seen

     good friends  minds    feel good

 11.   merchants, doctors and priests

       never   good friends   should  be

with peoples adversity   boiling up    wealth

increasing    how  they friends   could be ?

 12.   people who   without mind    words   speak

those poets  are, ascetics   poets   accuse

but poets  say   as   at night   sky

     by darkness   overcome

so   these ascetics  mind  by austerity  overcome

as  blind   by moon   not enjoy

so  these ascetics  by poetry  not pleased

in world   one  God,   they  think

however  of our poetry,  we  creator and God

    just as    we   want

so   this world   to poetry   turned

 13.   in dawn     priests   hymns  having recited

      for Gods    offerings    give forth

     and Gods   with offerings    pleased

Gods   in heaven   dwell, but priests  on earth

and heaven   of sky  above,  people  think

how then, Gods   of priests    offerings  obtain

priests   offerings   in fire   cast forth

     from fire   smoke   is born

and in sky  and heaven   goes

thus   fire    of priests  offerings    to Gods

     towards  lead,    people think

 14.  in emperors  assembly   the poet  these words said

hey God,  in this world   you     moon

     your  fame   with light

     in sky    sun   also    shines

     hence     poets words   to you

     praise     not fire

     with these words   favored king

for poet   much wealth   was given forth

     wealth  having obtained   favored poet

     house    having gone

to wife   he  said,  hey  wive,   look

      fool  also  the king

     When   I   with poems   praised

Then  he   to me  much money  gave forth

     If   others   also   fools

     for me   money   should give

Then   them   also  I   will praise
