                                     dakṣikṣetāgamanam

                                             arriving  at  the  Dakshi  Ranch

J           ataḥ bhavān  narakajitāvahakaḥ  bhavitavyaḥ.

                  So ,  i  guess  that  makes  you  not  a  drug  smuggler .

 

 S          aham māstiṣkayantrakarakaḥ asmi

                  i  am  a  software  programmer

                  

 J        kim māstiṣka-yantrakarakaḥ tibet-madhye kṛṇoti  ?

               What  is  a  programmer  doing  going  into  Tibet ?

        

 S        camling-sarovaraḥ   Hub   asti.

                 Chamling  Lake  is  a  Hub.  

           eṣaḥ  ekaḥ  asti  dvā-daśeṣu   Hub  Tibet-madhye.

                 it  is  one                 of-12          Hubs  in  Tibet.

 

 J         Hub  kim bhavati ?

                  What  is  a   Hub ?

 

 S        viṣvaṃ  kendram  kenacit  dhaninā  cina-puruṣena  upa-labhyate.

                 Each  Hub  in  Tibet   is  owned  by  a  super  rich  Chinese  guy.

            te  purātanāni devakulāni  krītavantaḥ

               They  bought  up  old  monasteries 

           tatraiva  adhyayana-kendrāṇi  nirmitavantaḥ/kṛtavantaḥ.

                  and  built  huge  mainframes  in  them.

            te prathamam kṛtrima-cetanam  kire  prayatante.

                  They  are  competing  to-build  the  first  A.I.

 

J           aham  na kadācid   eteṣu  nṛṇām  aśṛṇavam

 S       aṣṭa-navatiḥ  kārya-kendrāṇām kṛtsnāyām bhuvi bhavati.

         tadanantaraṃ avataraḥ teṣām vividheṣu lokeṣu paribhramitum samarthaḥ.       

                   then  their  Avatar  can    move  around  various  virtual  worlds.

         sarvam kendram svalokam vyavaharati, sarvāṇi tu baddhāni vartante.

                   Each  Hub  runs  its  own  virtual  world,  but  they  are  all linked.

         tava avataraḥ ekataḥ anyam lokam gantum śaknoti.

                 Your  Avatar  can  move  from  one  virtual  world  to  another

         etad eva adhikṛtya aham kāryam karomi.

                  This  is  what  I  am  working  on.

        asmin viṣaye ekam varṣam kāryam akaravam.      

                  I’ve  worked  on  this  for  one  year.

        mama dvitīyam varṣam ārambhate.

 J        kimartham tvayā adharmeṇa māstiṣka-yantrāṃśāḥ ānetavyāḥ?

 S           smara yat ete adharmikāḥ lokāḥ

                     Remember,  it’s  all  kind of  underground.

              yatra sarvam kendram spardhate anyaiḥ.

              eṣā dhaninām krīḍā bhavati.

                    It  is  a  rich man’s  sport.

 S         niścitam eva.    kintu kimcid bhayaṃkaram vartate.

                  it  is.   but  a  little  dangerous.

             aham prakṣyāmi yat bhavatā taiḥ saṃmelitum śakyate vā iti.

               I’ll  ask  if  you  can  meet  some of the  guys.

         

 J         kati janāḥ tatra devakule vasanti ?

                 How  many  people  are  at  the  monastary  ?

 

 S        paritaḥ navatiḥ janāḥ vasanti.

                  There  are  around  90  people  there.

 

J         nāryaḥ santi vā ?

                   Any  women  ?

 

 S       aparyāptam.

               Not  enough.

          anyataḥ sukham sthānam kāryārtham

                It  is  a  fun  place  to  work,

 

 J        asamicīnam yat mama kevalam gamanāgamanam bhavitum arhati.

 S        tatra catvāraḥ pañca vā amerikadeśataḥ janāḥ bhavanti.

 J        ete prāgatyāḥ santi vā ?

 S         ām   uttamam etad uktam, mitra me,

            prathamata eva yātrāyāḥ horācatuṣṭayaṃ gamiṣyāmaḥ,

            tadanantaram viśrāmaḥ tathā hi horādvayam bhūyaḥ gamanaṃ bhavatu.

                       We  will  go  for  4  hours,  rest  and  the  go  for  2  more  hours.

 

                

 S         kutra  tvam mām bhavitum icchasi ?

 S          bhoḥ,   kimcid viśiṣṭam atipannam bhavatā !

 J           yat  kimapi  ucyate  bhavatā.

              kimartham  te   Hubs   devakuleṣu     tiṣṭanti  ?

                     Why  are  they  putting  Hubs  in  monasteries ?

 

 S           vayam   parāmanasaḥ   anu  icchamaḥ

                    We  are  seeking  Higher Mind  Jack.     A.I.    

              kim anyat sthānam sutaraṃ bhavitum śakyate ?  

                    What  better  place  to do  that.  ?

 

 J          tava kāryam adhikṛtya kimcid vada me.

                   Tell  me  about  your   programming   stuff.

 

S            camlign-sarovare prabhūtam nirmāṇaṃ upayujyate.

                         Chamling Lake  runs  a  massive  mainframe

              sūkṣma-lokaḥ tatra asti, saḥ parābuddhiḥ iti ucyate.

             MMO-saṃyogam kṛtvā

         eteṣu ekam bhavitum śakyate caturtha-sthiti-manaḥ iti anveṣaṇam kartavyaṃ, 

             One  of  them  might  be  to  search  for  the  Fourth-Order-Mind.

            aham tasmin kṣetre kāryam kṛṇomi.

J         ākhyātum śakyate vā kim caturtha-sthiti- manaḥ asti iti.

                 Can  you  tell  me  what  the  Fourth-Order-Mind  is.

 

 S         na tu tattvataḥ,      prayatnam kṛṇavāmi.

                   Not  really  but  i’ll  try,

            Sriaravindaḥ  parācetanam    avadat .

                  Sri  Aurobindo   talked  about Supramental  Consciousness.

            saḥ aṣṭā sthitayaḥ manasaḥ iti  avadat

                  He  said  there  were   8  levels  of  mind .

            asmābhiḥ prathamāḥ tisraḥ vidyante, yathā

                   We  know  the  first  3  as,

            annamayaṃ manaḥ, prāṇamayaṃ manaḥ, manomayaṃ manaḥ.   

                   physical  mind  -    vital  mind  -  mental  mind

             anyāni pañca 

                   The  other  5    are      

             parāmanaḥ, divya-manaḥ, parābuddhiḥ, atibuddhiḥ, supra-jñānam.   

                   Higher - illumined - intuition - overmind – supermind

             aham    parāmanasi   kṛṇvan    bhavāmi

                    I’m  working  on  Higher  Mind.

             

 J          sādhu śrūyate, kintu kim etad asti ?

                  Sounds  good  but  what  is  it  ? 

 

 S         ekaṃ śāstraṃ asti yatra sthitayaḥ ekaikam adhitiṣṭhanti,

                  The  theory  of  Supervenience states  that

             tatra ārohanaṃ tattvānām vyavasthe bhavati.

                   there  is  a  hierarchy  of  properties  in  a  system.

            yatra nīcatarāṇi tattvāni uttarāṇāṃ tattvānām pratiṣṭhām vyūham ca kurvanti.

                   Where  lower  properties  determine  the  distribution

                   and  structure  of  higher  properties.

          Atha uttarāṇi tattvāni anyāni nīcatarāṇi tattvāni adhitiṣṭhanti,

          yathā rasāyana-tattvāni

                  And  that  the  higher  order  properties  supervene  on  the  lower  properties.

 

                   such  as

            māstiṣkāyāḥ vyūham nirmāṇam ca nirṇayanti

            tathā māstiṣkā     api manasaḥ vyūham nirmāṇam ca nirṇayati.

            chemical  properties  determine  the  distribution  and  structure of  the  brain,

            The  brain  determines  the  distribution  and  structure  of  the  first  order  mind.

 

 

            prathamaḥ Manaḥ dvitīyasya manasaḥ vyūham, nirmāṇam ca nirṇayati.

     The  first  order mind  determines  the  distribution and  structure  of  the  second  order  mind.

 

       viparītena,

            Contrariwise, 

       dvitīyam manaḥ api prathamam   manaḥ adhitiṣṭhati.

             The  second order mind  can  supervene  on the  first order mind.

       prathamam manaḥ māstiṣkām api adhitiṣṭhati.

              The  first  order  mind  supervenes  on  the  brain.

       māstiṣkā api rasāyanatattvāni adhitiṣṭhati.

             The  brain  supervenes  on  chemicals.

      manye  yat  sriaravindaḥ  parāmanasaḥ

               i  think  that  Sri Aurobindo  is  saying

 

        parāmanasaḥ    tattvāni nirṇītāni 

             that   Higher-mind’s  properties   are-determined

       uccā    parābuddhyā, supra-jñānena ca.

                  from  above ,   by  Supermind  and  Overmind.

 

          na tu adhastāt.

               Not  from  below.

 

 J        aham  tathāpi  nāvagacchāmi.

                i  still  don’t  get  it .

 S        avagamayitum  prayatnam  kṛṇavāni . 

                  Let  me  try  to  disambiguate,

           asmākam manasi,

                 in  our  mind, 

           matayaḥ bhājyante nirmīyante ca nīcataraiḥ tattvaiḥ.

                  thoughts  are  distributed  and  structured  by  lower  order  properties.

           parāmanasi matayaḥ na utpatanti parantu avataranti.     

                  In  Higher  Mind  ,   thoughts  don’t   pop  up   but  pop  down.

          amohataḥ,

               From  clarity,

          mahataḥ tuṣṇībhāvataḥ,

               From  an  aggressive  silence,

 

 J      katham jñātum śaknoṣi     yat anubhavitum asamarthaḥ.

            So,  how  can  you  explore  something  that  you  can’t  sense.

        

 S      asmākam āśā asti ‘pradhāna-saṃsthānam sāhāyyam kartum śaknoti’ iti

                We  are  hoping  that  the  mainframe  can  help.

         yantra-cetanāyāḥ bhinnāḥ niyamāh santi.

                   Machine  intelligence   has   different  limitations

         dhūmapānam kartum icchati vā ?

                 Do  you  want  to  smoke  a  joint  ?

        

 J      kevalam yadi bhavān mama viski pātum aṅgīkaroti.
