19.       daśa   te   kalaśānām

                 10   of-your   golden   jars

           hiraṇyānām   adhīmahi

                                    we  attain      root  ao.   dhā  or  dhī

          bhūridā   asi   vṛtrahan

               plenty  do  you give  O dragon-slayer

               largeness-giver    you-are

 

 

20.    bhūridā   bhūri   dehi  nas

               O giver of plenty,  give us plenty

              O giver of largeness, 

        mā   dabhram   bhūri   ā   bhara

               not a little (but) plenty do bring us

              not the petty,  but  the  large         bring 

        bhūri   ghed   indra   ditsasi

                indeed,  you  wish  to  give  plenty     desid.  

                only  the  largeness  it is that  you  seek  to divide

 

21.    bhūridā   hi   asi  śruta:

                indeed ,  you  are famous for giving plenty   śru  c5   to hear

                as a giver of largeness

         purutrā   sūra   vṛtrahan

                in  many  places,  O  heroic dragon-slayer

                are  you  known in many places

         ā  nas   bhajasva   rādhasi

              give  us a share  in the boon      bhaj  c1   share divide

              enjoy us in our felicity       rādha     gift  favor

 

22.     pra   te   babhrū   vicakṣaṇa

                 I  glorify  your  pair of ruddy (horses)

                 O  Indra  of  perfect  seeing

         śamsāmi   goṣaṇas   napāt

                  O (mighty) in insight, ) descendant of the cow-winner

                   I  declare  in  myself  your  multicoloured (steeds)

          ābhyām   gā:   anu   śiśratha:

               do  not  weaken the cows for this pair’s  sake

               may  you  not loosen the ray-cows in your (steeds)

23.    kanīnakeva   vidradhe

               like a pair of new wedding  figurines,

               like  young girls,  firm and new

        nave   drupade   arbhake

               small(ones), a wooden pedestal

               and swift-footed  and small

        babhrū   yāmeṣu   śobhete

               the ruddy pair drives out in splendor     śubh  c1  beautify

               the  dappled  pair  shine  in their  coursings

 

24.    aram   ma   usrayāmṇe

                ready  for  me in the early  drive-out

               whether  moving in the  light    or  moving  unillumined

          aram   an-usrayāmṇe

               ready (for me) in the late  drive-out  

               sufficient for me are your dappled  pair (of steeds)

          babhrū   yāmeṣu   asridhā

               is the ruddy  pair (never)  going astray

               for  they2  stumble  not in their  course
