1. ya: brahmaṇā karṇau āvṛṇoti tam pitaram mātaram ca

who with-Brahman both-ears covers

him, father and mother

manvānas na druhyet tasmais kadācana

considers, one-should-not-offend(him who) to-them ever

2. idam te lobhāndhasya vṛttam mansi camatkāram ātanoti

this of-your-blind-avarice conduct in-mind wander causes

3. bos rājan, nīti-jñānām mantriṇām abhiprāyam śrutvā

of-politically-smart(wise) minister plan having-heard

yad-dhitam tat svīkurusva

what-proper(dhā ppp) that let-you-take

4. asmad-yaśāṃsi dikṣu pratanuyus iti

our-glories in-regions they-let-spread-abroad

matvā bhūyasīm śriyam bhūbhujas kavibhyas vibhajanti

having-thought more fortune king to-poets distribute

5. māṃsa-mūla-phalādi prabhūta-byaṅjanais sūdās mahānase samskuryus

flesh-root-fruit-etc with-many-spices, cooks in-kitchen should-prepare

6. śatruṣu-upāgateṣu śūrās yuddhāya sajjībhūya svaguṇān āviṣkutvantu

in-enemies(who)-came-near, heros for-battle having-become-ready

qualities let-display-exhibit-make-known

7. apsarasas taras-kariṇyā vapus taras-kurvate

Apsarasa with-vail body hides

avijñātā: ca manuṣyān upāgacchanti

and unrecoginized men approach
