· asti mandaranāmni parvate durdānta nāma simha: /

there-is on-Mandara-mountain Durdānta lion

· sa: ca sarvadā paśūnām vadham kurvan āste /

· yadi etat abhimatam bhavatām tarhi bhavatu /

if this wish of-you, then let-it-be

· tata: prabhṛti ekaikam paśum upakalpitam bhakṣayan aste /

· atha kadācit vṛddha-śaśakasya vāra: samāyāta /

tasya upari ātmānam nikṣipya paṅcatvam gata: /
